Job Details

We are looking for a full time veterinary surgeon to provide maternity cover for our practice. Your role will be mostly based at our Rugby surgery but occasional sole charge at our Warwick surgery (16 miles away) will be required. We offer a very supportive environment with consulting and surgery slots equally shared. This role is 40 hours per week with either 4 x 10 hour shifts or 5 x 8 hour shifts (Covid bubbles depending!). 1 in 3 Saturdays and 1 in 6 Sundays, with a day off in lieu during the week (Currently 1 in 6 Saturdays with Covid Bubbles). 1 bank holiday worked per year, with time back in lieu. Opening hours 8:30am-6:30pm Mon-Sat and 10am-4pm on Sunday. Part time applications will also be considered.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly approachable practice with excellent word of mouth recommendations from our clients. We have a happy team that support each other in providing an excellent service to our clients and their pets. We are a modern progressive practice with a very comprehensive range of equipment and colleagues that will help you become the vet you want to be. We have 4 certificates between us (medicine, surgery, opthalmology and endosurgery) and a fifth being undertaken in emergency and critical medicine. We all enjoy mentoring and helping colleagues to develop their skill set. Operating microscope, digital x-ray, full range of flexible and rigid endoscopes, high end colour doppler ultrasound, full in house lab, laser scalpel, K-laser, full suite of orthopaedic equipment including TTA and MMP, Slit lamp and tonometer, all anaesthetic monitors have ECG, pulse ox, NIBP, and capnography, harmonic scalpel, electrosurgery, laparoscopic spays, separate cat/dog/exotic wards and isolation. MRCVS and some practice experience sought ideally but a new graduate would be considered. We are seeking someone who is competent with routine surgeries and consultations, and who is able to work cases up to a high level, using our in house diagnostics as much as possible.
