LOCATION: AFBI Stormont, Stoney Road, Belfast, BT4 3SD    

AFBI are seeking an enthusiastic, outstanding scientist in the area of animal disease surveillance to lead a branch heavily involved with statutory surveillance supporting trade and preventing disease incursions to Northern Ireland. The role oversees work based at the AFBI Stormont site. The successful candidate joins the Division at a pivotal time of change in terms of implementing Official Laboratory functions in the context of EU Exit and the Northern Ireland Protocol. This is a challenging and rewarding post in which the appointed individual will be expected to further develop the quality and range of programmes supporting DAERA and industry, including emergency response against notifiable disease incursions, as well as having a vital input into industry and governmental policies and strategies.
