Veterinary Surgeon - Somerset

My client in Somerset is looking for an experienced vet to add to their existing small animal team at their beautiful practice. They are close enough for a weekend getaway to the beaches of Cornwall or the rugged moorland of Dartmoor in Devon.

They work between two branches, Both have good transport links being close to the M5 and the A303.

The positions can be adapted to suit your needs in both main location and hours; to fit around your life outside work.
There will be some sole charge, you will need to be confident in both routine and emergency work.
They are in the process of transferring our OOH work to an OOH provider so there will be no on-call. They will maintain care of their inpatients as we feel this is the right thing to do so there will still be a duty rota which is presently a 1:4. The rota will include a Saturday morning surgery and attention to inpatients as required. They often have no inpatients so, many weekends will be work free.

Our nursing team is made up of 4 RVN’s and 2 SVN’s. There is always a nurse available to help with inpatients.

The role will be a mixture of consulting and surgery, any interests you have will be supported and they would fully encourage a certificate in your chosen area. Consults are 15 minutes, the last of the day booked 45 minutes before they close at 6.30pm, they are rarely late leaving.

Competitive salary up to £48,000 dependent on hours and experience.

Holiday is 20 days pro rata + bank holidays.
