About us:

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.

We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work.

Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house CT machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our Mossley (Ian McConnell Vets) 24 hour practice as part of our dedicated night team. A client-orientated approach and excellent communication skills is a must, alongside the ability to work to a high standard both medically and surgically whilst working sole charge.

We have fantastic clients and we are active in the local community. You will be working within our well-equipped practice including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, laparoscope, video otoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser. Plans for CT machine on site in the future.

We offer excellent long term prospects for the right candidate, with advancement in skills and specialism actively encouraged. Experience working in an environment where colleagues support you by sharing skills and knowledge to give our patients the best outcomes.

Salary and hours

This role has a rota of 7 nights working followed by 14 nights off. The shifts are 19:00 - 08:00.

Joining our national network of veterinary surgeons at Medivet, offers exceptional opportunities for career development while enjoying a very competitive salary package with accommodation and vehicle allowance. A generous £1500 CPD allowance is also designed to drive your progress. RCVS, VDS and BVA membership paid. 5 weeks annual leave allowance (FTE) plus blank holidays included into working pattern.

Key accountabilities:

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Branch:

This exciting opportunity has arisen due to Ian McConnell Vet practice in Mossley joining our Medivet family. Already being a 24 hr hospital the practice has become the main centre in the region providing 24 hour care for our surrounding clinics.

The clinic is well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors, endoscopy, laparoscopy, video otoscope, in house blood machines, separate day and night teams for 24 hour care on site.
