Job Details

We have a great opportunity for an experienced farm vet to join the Farm Practice at the Willows Veterinary Group. The role will be based from Hartford, Cheshire and will complement our current team of 9 clinical farm animal vets and 4 TB testers. We also offer a dedicated medicine delivery service running daily.

The Willows Farm Animal Veterinary Practice is based within the Cheshire Plains, working, and supporting our local farmers to minimise disease and maximise welfare productivity and ultimately profitability of the herd. We recognise the importance of good herd management, nutrition and preventive medicine and are always on hand to provide help and advice. We also organise a number of client events throughout the year. As Farm Vets we provide a modern pro-active service for livestock farmers and their animals. Almost all our work is dairy based however we have a significant amount of sheep and beef work too, along with a few smaller ‘hobby farms’.

We are looking for someone with prior farm vet experience and is confident in their abilities. We are a dynamic, committed, and passionate group of individuals based from our Head Office in Hartford, Cheshire. Reporting to one of our Clinical Directors, the role will involve working full-time across Monday to Friday, plus taking part in the OOH on call rota. Our practice covers Cheshire, North Wales and ventures into South Lancashire, North Shropshire, and North Staffordshire.

An attractive package is on offer to include an excellent salary (we challenge you to find a better salary for the equivalent job!), company pension scheme, staff discounts, VDS cover, RCVS membership reimbursed plus an additional subscription, membership to our Healthshield (EAP programme), mobile phone, company vehicle, and 33 days holidays inclusive of bank holidays.

Our vehicles are all less than 3 years old, twin cab pick-ups (great for tax benefit if used for personal use and a good work vehicle). We believe in offering an environment where you are continuously able to develop your skills, with this in mind we offer a funded CPD programme where we actively support individuals who wish to complete a certificate in their chosen field. Being part of Vet Partners, we have access to a nationwide network of over 300 farm vets for advice, support and knowledge sharing, special interest groups, development of new on farm tech, research projects, as well as being part of launching new innovative services to support the wider agricultural industry.
