Experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon - Strathaven, South Lanarkshire

The Role
We are looking for an experienced full time farm veterinary surgeon to join our expanding, dairy focused, department as part of Avondale Veterinary Group. You will be responsible for delivering care to our clients, ranging from some of the top dairy and sheep farmers in the UK to smallholders. OV duties would include TB testing equally shared across the department in a 48 month testing interval area. There is also some product exportation work mostly covered by a dedicated additional OV. The OOH rota is 1:4 weeknights and 1:4 weekends compensated by a half-day off in lieu. A company car can be provided or a car allowance with business mileage claimed back at HMRC rates.

About Us
Our practice is in Strathaven, 15 miles South of Glasgow. We have multiple Easi-Scans, access to Interherd+, TotalVet, 2 hydraulic foot trimming crushes, a Pulsator IV electro-ejaculator and provide in house mastitis bacteriology. Our friendly multi-disciplinary team consists of 12 Veterinary Surgeons and 5 Nurses with a Practice Manager who can fix anything!

Applicant Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a veterinary degree and be MRCVS registered. Several years of experience of farm work in the UK is essential. Study for further certificates would be encouraged. An enthusiasm for expanding and developing the services offered would also be advantageous See our facilities at www.avondalevets.com
