Job Details
Having worked 2.5 years with us our new graduate is moving on and we are looking for a new colleague to complete our team of 4 vets
The Practice
The practice is long established and well known in the community, with proven procedures in place to make the Practice run smoothly, but always prepared to tweak them to resolve any emerging issues.
We are a real friendly place to work. We are big enough to have colleagues to discuss cases with, but small enough to have a “family feel” to the place, where everyone looks out for each other, and everyone can contribute to any changes that need to be made.
There is a big team of highly competent nurses to support you and who run their own clinics as well as managing our Preventative Health Care Scheme which we’ve been running for 18 years.
Consults time is 15 mins, with double slots for new client 1st visit, Puppy / kitten 1st vaccination visit, euthanasia visits. During Covid working conditions all appointments are 30 minutes with no clients in the building, except for euthanasia, once we have the patient suitably prepared to allow social distancing for the process.
Current equipment includes standard and dental x-ray generators with digital processing, ultrasound, dental drill, multiparameter monitor, separate BP monitor, tonometry ( Tonovet), in-house lab.
Location
Half an hour train ride to central London, or 15 min drive into Kent countryside.
The Role
You would be managing your own case load, medically and surgically. However we also recognise each other’s strengths so are happy for internal case referrals or external referrals as you see fit.
Successful Candidate
Ideal candidate will be kind, compassionate, have loads of patience for worried owners, be a good communicator and have pets of their own. They should be happy to discuss the various options on how to proceed with a patient’s care, and then work with the owner within their budget.
They will be familiar with the principle of “ less is more” when it comes to handling cats or prepared to learn this.
The Package
In addition to the basic salary which will be commensurate to experience:
- CPD budget of £1500/per annum plus 3 days paid leave to attend any courses
- Pension scheme with Scottish Widows
- 28 days holiday plus Bank Holidays or time in Lieu if have been on call
- VDS cover

Company
The practice has provided high quality veterinary care in Bromley since 1937. We are not part of a chain or group of practices. Over much of the last twenty years, the practice has been owned and managed by Mrs Evelyn Torbet-Smith BVMS MRCVS. We aim to provide the highest level of medical and surgical care in the Bromley area, but most importantly, look after our clients and their pets with compassion and understanding.
