An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic RVN/MRCVS holder to join our Academy team.

DWA, based at Dick White Referrals since 2016, provides first class training for those pursuing a career in animal care and our Quality Assurer is responsible for supporting a team of assessors both internally at DWA and externally within the veterinary practices and carrying out regular internal verification audits for a range of related qualifications and assessment methods.

You shall also lead on quality processes to ensure that DWA maintains its high standing with Awarding Bodies and other regulators (RCVS, ESFA & Ofsted).

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Support a team of assessors (in DWA and in practice)
  • Ensure high quality delivery and compliance from the delivery team
  • Prepare for and manage EQA visits and communication
  • Communicate with the DWA Principal so that the continued high quality of assessment is maintained as DWA grows
  • Produce training materials and deliver training and other information as necessary for assessors and other verifiers
  • Monitor and track assessments, assessors and learners through their work and programmes
  • Support inductions for staff and learners
  • Hold standardisation meetings to highlight good practice and review paperwork and processes
  • Produce regular progress reports as required
  • Produce an annual internal verification strategy for observations e-portfolios, assignments, learner reviews and teaching observations sampling to ensure assessors, learners and delivery staff meet national standards
  • Promote safe and healthy working practices, applying and complying with health and safety regulations
  • Follow and comply with college safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Participate in training and development activities as appropriate
  • Attend team, department and college meetings as required
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained where required and compliance with Data Protection regulations and policy
  • Undertake such other work as may be required from time to time by the Principal, consistent with the duties and grading of the post

Requirements of the post:
Qualifications:

  • RVN or MRCVS holder
  •  IQA level 4 or equivalent (e.g. D34/V1)
  • Award in Education and Training Level 3 or equivalent (e.g. PTLLS)
  • Level 2 English & Maths (GCSE A*-C or equivalent)

Experience:
Essential

  • Proven track record of IQA across a range of qualifications and levels up to level 3
  • Experience of supporting/managing EQA visits
  • Experience of delivering standardisation and staff development
  • To have worked in an educational establishment

Preferred

  • Experience of Ofsted inspections at a quality assurance level
  • Proven track record of IQA across a range of qualifications and levels 4+

  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work under pressure and work to short deadlines
  • Excellent communicator both oral and written
  • Commitment to child protection/safeguarding

  • Excellent administration and record keeping skills

  • Full driver’s license and use of car
  • Applicants must have a clear DBS check
