Outstanding position in South Yorkshire for a vet confident with basic surgery and consulting and keen to gain greater experience and knowledge in a RELAXED, INDEPENDENT, FAMILY RUN, SMALL ANIMAL PRACTICE.
- Salary: From £40,000 plus new car – for work and private use
- We share over 200 years of Clinical experience so are a superb practice in which to expand your career, 6 weeks holiday, 2 hour set lunch breaks.
- Alternate 4/5 day weeks.
- Enjoy clinical freedom and great support in a beautiful area of South Yorkshire, 20 minutes from Leeds and Sheffield.
- Very friendly, highly supportive team of 14 vets, 11 VNs and 7 auxiliary nurses.
- Hydrotherapy Centre.
- Our extremely well equipped TIER 2 main centre has just been fully renovated and, like the 7 modern branches, is FULLY AIR CONDITIONED.
- OOH - one night duty per week- supported, nurse takes phone and checks inpatients.

We are specialists in all areas of pet care from vaccinations (including cat vaccinations and dog vaccinations) pet nutrition and weight control to animal acupuncture. We also operate as 24-hour emergency vets in Barnsley if a pet requires emergency treatment. Our emergency cover is offered 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
Abbey Vets is a family-run vets, started in 1975 by the current Principle Tony Duffy, who along with his Wife Sheila and Daughter Kim still run the practice. The main Barnsley Centre on Dodworth Road is extremely well equipped and is open 7 days a week providing a full 24-hour emergency service. The practice has been fully appraised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has achieved the highest standard possible - Tier 2 (the only one higher is a Hospital).
