Surgery Information / Job Description

Want to look forward to going to work each day? Love being part of a team that genuinely cares for each other?

We are looking for a vet with at least one year’s experience to become part of our professional and forward thinking team. We want someone who is dedicated to high quality patient care, clinical standards, and most importantly is enthusiastic and passionate about their job. Do not apply if you can’t give us that little bit extra that makes our business stand out from our competitors!

A little bit about us

We are a team of thirty colleagues who strive each and every day to deliver clinical excellence as well as create the best possible client experience. How do we do this? We believe in team work and we live each day by our practice values, we treat others how we would like to be treated, we have each other’s backs, we have fun, we laugh (a lot), we have excellent communication, we encourage each other and most importantly we allow one another balance, between work and life. We know each person is different and what inspires and motivates one person, doesn’t necessarily do the same for someone else, that’s why we tailor our packages and rotas to each individual colleague to make it personal. We believe in being flexible, understanding and compassionate and we pride ourselves on this. We truly have a wonderful team so finding the ‘right’ person is very important to us.

A word from our team

"At Vets4Pets Ayr/Irvine, work-life balance is really prioritised and management are great at allowing us flexibility and time to have lives outside of work, while time in work is spent with a close knit, supportive family team who genuinely get on really well and will be the first to have your back and support you. I've never seen a practice so willing to go above and beyond for their team before."

Person Specification

What we want from you

We ask that you are passionate about the veterinary community, that you have a positive attitude, that you aren’t afraid to make changes and are happy to voice your opinion. We want you to use your initiative, share your experience, support your colleagues and be there for them when they need you. You must be a team player and demonstrate this by attending the odd night out, drinks after work (when we can eventually do these things again!) and generally enjoy having a good old laugh! We would love you to know what you want and know your balance, tell us and let us help create that, we want honesty!

Benefits

Freedom and progression

You'll also have access to great equipment to fulfill your role and have a forward thinking team to help you progress. We want someone who can bring their own ideas, and if applicable depending on experience take a lead and offer direction/mentorship to our younger colleagues.

We place real importance on ongoing client care and continuity across cases so you can develop your own client base.  There’s a healthy case load for those who already have/would like to study towards a certificate too.

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
