We are looking for a vet with some experience in first opinion practice for our small animal hospital in Worksop, Notts.
Covid-19 has meant we have reviewed our ways of working and are looking to create a more sustainable rota for our vets, improved continuity of care for our patients and their owners, and increased flexibility to cope with the unpredictable.
Who we are:
- A purpose-built, single site, first opinion small animal hospital who take pride in delivering excellent GP care to our patients and clients alike.
- We have 24-hour on site nursing care for our hospitalised patients.
- Our team comprises 11 vets, 20 RVN’s, a dedicated front of house team, nursing students and veterinary care assistants.
- We are an ISFM gold standard cat friendly clinic and hold the RWAF rabbit friendly silver award.
- Our purpose-built building has separate cat and dog wards, waiting areas and consulting rooms as well as a dedicated end of life suite.
- Recent additions to the practice include dental radiography and a CT suite.
The role:
- Average 38.5 hour working week
- Mixture of consulting, operating and in-patient/ward shifts, allowing excellent opportunity for case work up and continuity of care.
- 20 minute consultations as standard to give the time to our clients and patients that we feel is essential to good practice.
- Working as part of a six-week rolling rota that incorporates a 1 in 6 weekend rota.
- On call for inpatients only; one week in six (11pm-7am Mon-Fri) and one weekend in six (8pm-8am Sat and Sun)
- Salary £33k - £45k commensurate with experience
Our ideal candidate:
- 6 months + experience in small animal practice.
- Enjoys client interaction and case continuity.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Good routine surgical skills
Located within an hour of Sheffield, Nottingham and the Peak District, and with the National Trusts Clumber Park on our doorstep, there are plenty of opportunities to pursue interests outside of work.
