Job Details
To conduct both Ministry and Private TB tests; to conduct Export work which is primarily local dairy products, both to the EU and worldwide. If you do not yet have the appropriate OV Export Panels then please still apply but make us aware - appropriate training will be provided by the practice for the right candidate.
The Practice
We are an independent mixed practice in the heart of rural mid-Devon. We are blessed to have Dartmoor National Park on our doorstep and the coastlines of Devon and Cornwall are within striking distance. The cities of Exeter and Plymouth are nearby, together with good rail and road links north and east. We currently have 6 full time equivalent (FTE) farm vets, 5 FTE small animal vets, 4 equine vets, one TB tester and excellent nursing and administration team. We have a good variety of dairy, beef suckler and calf rearing units, together with several sheep farms. The Export work currently runs out of 3 distribution facilities.
Location
Our surgeries are located in North Tawton, Okehampton and Hatherleigh, Devon.
Successful Candidate
Requires MRCVS membership, UK experience of TB testing, OV qualifications for exports (HOWEVER these can be worked towards for the right candidate).
The Package
RCVS, VDS, BVA and one subdivision of BVA included, together with an attractive CPD package. 5-day week with usual working hours 8.30-17.30, 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays. Salary commensurate with experience.
