Job Details

We are currently looking for a veterinary surgeon to join our fantastic team on a full-time basis. We would also welcome applications from part-time candidates. The role will consist of 4 days a week, plus a share of the weekend rota and inpatient duties, with no out of hours. The role will include an equal share of both consultations and surgery and any particular interests are actively encouraged and supported.

We are located in an attractive town in West Sussex, close to Ashdown Forest with easy access to Brighton and London. Our Vets at East Grinstead Veterinary Centre aim to practise to the very highest standard of medicine and surgery. We undertake a wide variety of clinical procedures to both help us make a diagnosis, and then treat any problems we find. With more than 65 years’ experience between them, our vets are not only supportive to one another but also have a wide range of particular interests and skills to share, including; orthopaedic and soft-tissue surgery, clinical diagnostic medicine, ultrasonography, endoscopy and clinical laboratory medicine. We have a varied caseload ranging from routine surgery to orthopaedics and are well equipped with an internal lab covering biochemistry and haematology, ultrasound, dental radiography, digital x-ray, k-laser and 3 endoscopes.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced veterinary surgeon with a medical bias, they must be a team player with good client communication capability and enjoy a varied caseload. CPD is always encouraged in order to develop new skills.

The hospital has a well equiped laboratory with, amongst other things, a high quality Synermed® blood biochemistry analyser and a Medica® blood electrolyte machine allowing us to perform a wide variety of blood tests (including health screens, liver and kidney studies and thyroid hormone levels). We also have a new Motic® binocular microscope, which allows us to examine; urine, blood cells, discharges and some lumps and bumps.
