The role:

We are seeking an assistant veterinary surgeon to join our fantastic practice in Leckhampton, Cheltenham.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months with possibility of extension for the right candidate. 

The role works to a 3 day week, Weds-Fri with 1:4 Saturday mornings, 08:00-13:00 - NO OOH required!

This role offers a package of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience including housing allowance, vehicle allowance, a generous CPD allowance designed to drive your progress with 15 days annual leave plus RCVS, VDS and BVA membership. 20 days annual leave including bank holidays.  

Skills and experience:

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

We are seeking someone with a surgical bias with laparoscopic spay experience a bonus!

The ideal candidate will have a min of 3-years experience, competent in routine ops and keen to progress with more advanced surgeries. You will be confident with consultations with a sound knowledge base.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others. 

Branch:

Leckhampton is a stylish, modern clinic, well equipped and will soon to offer laparoscopy spays. This is a busy, friendly practice with a loyal client base. 

Leckhampton is a partnered branch with two additional vets, including this role plus a team of 5 nurses. 

Not familiar with the area? Cheltenham has good rail and road links to rest of UK. Here, you will have the beautiful Cotswolds on your doorstep as well as Bristol, Gloucester and South Wales.
