We have an exciting full-time Head Veterinary Nurse position at our long-established branch in Oxted, as our current Head Nurse is transferring to a different department.

The role will involve all aspects of nursing as well as assisting with training our student nurses through clinical coaching. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas; more responsibilities will form part of this role with full support being provided by the nursing team.

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for the overseeing of the administration associated with the daily running of the branch, as well as supporting and delivering standards of the RCVS PSS scheme and the requirements of a training practice. At Oxted, there is minimal reception cover during the weekdays, as our receptionists are there everyday from open to close.

This is a full time permanent position, covering 40 hours a week over 5 days. You will also be part of a weekend rota, covering 1:5 full weekends at Medivet 24 Hour Beckenham (with time off in lieu).

Skills and Experience

You must be a Veterinary Nurse who is registered with the RCVS.

Experience of leading a small team or a strong desire to develop these skills is required.

The Branch

Medivet Oxted is a small animal branch located within walking distance of the pleasant and popular village of Oxted and its train station.  The branch has on offer: excellent and spacious, RCVS approved facilities providing both independent cat and dog wards, three consulting rooms, double operating theatre and separate dental suite. They have a full in-house laboratory with both biochemistry and haematology analysers and digital radiography.

Our Oxted team is lead by a branch partner and veterinary surgeon who is supported by an assistant second vet, two part time receptionists and two student veterinary nurses.
