Veterinary Surgeon - Shrewsbury - Shropshire

Copthorne Vets are looking for a permanent veterinary surgeon to join our team in the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, surrounded by the Shropshire Hills AONB

This is a full time role working 4 days (36 hours) Monday to Friday and a 1:3 weekend rota (currently Saturday 9-12) or 1:4 for a more experienced candidate. 

We are an established 100% small animal, first opinion, busy practice. Full support will be given to the successful candidate who will work alongside our team of experienced veterinary surgeons. We have a lovely client base who wish to provide their pets with the best possible care, with a high percentage of insured pets. Our existing team is very friendly and ensures all clients and patients feel welcome. Our veterinary surgeons are supported by a team of qualified, highly skilled nurses and receptionists.

The practice provides a high standard of clinical care, and we pride ourselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest, working together to deliver outstanding care to our patients and clients. We have an array of in-house diagnostics, including digital radiography, ultrasonography and endoscopy, along with an excellent in-house lab for blood work and microscopy. Within our existing team we have vets who hold post qualifications in anaesthesia and analgesia, medicine and others who are working towards certificates in surgery, and behaviour. As a practice we are committed to looking after our team and providing full support for career development.

About the role

We are looking for a surgeon who has the ability to work well as part of a team, along with excellent client and people skills. A friendly and approachable manner is fundamental, with the ability to establish good working relationships.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious, expressing a desire to continue to develop their clinical skills. Any areas of interest are welcome. New Graduates are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
