Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Full or Part-Time) - Scotland

We are seeking an experienced vet (minimum 1 year) to join our friendly, relaxed, independent practice in Fife. 

The Practice

We are a friendly, independent, 100% small animal practice in Fife. We are long established and well known in the community.  We have 3 full-time and 3 part-time vets, 4 qualified RVNs and 5 additional reception/support staff. As a registered training practice, we also often have student nurses on placement with us too. We run a very successful Practice Plan and this, along with our nurse run clinics, allows us to emphasise the importance of pre-emptive care to our clients.

We have a quiet OOH rota, monthly three-day weekend after weekend on-call with a half day in the remaining weeks, one morning per week consulting and four mornings surgical time (operating). Part-time hours are also available. CPD allowance and usual fees paid.

The Role

Complete clinical freedom and freedom to follow your own cases.  No targets to meet, we focus exclusively on patient care. Exotics work available if interested. We have the usual toys- in house Idexx analysers- biochemistry (incl t4), haematology, electrolytes and blood gases. Digital x-rays (including dental). Doppler ultrasonography. Option to study towards a certificate if desired.

Successful Candidate

Must fit in with the team and be able to communicate well with clients. At least 1 year UK experience preferred. An interest in ultrasonography would be advantageous, but not essential.

Fife, the home of golf, is perfect for outdoor pursuits with its picturesque beaches, hill and coastal walks and water sports facilities. We are within one hour of Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth and St. Andrews.
