Fantastic opportunity for a VETERINARY SURGEON to join our growing team at Toll Barn Vets in North Walsham, Norfolk. We are a small animal practice who also offer referral services for exotic pets, CT scanning, laser therapy, physiotherapy and Dermatology.

We are seeking a veterinary surgeon with a passion for patient and client care and a friendly approachable personality.  We would ideally like a minimum of 2 years UK experience and are happy to accommodate a medical or surgical bias for the right candidate.  Experience in exotics is beneficial but definitely not essential!

Toll Barn 1The Practice

Since opening in 2014 Toll Barn Vets, our purpose built and family run independent practice has grown quickly and enjoys a loyal client base with a large number of interesting medical, imaging and surgical cases. We are located in a beautiful rural setting but only 20 minutes from Norwich and 1.5 hours from London by train.

Our 4 vets have a great support team including 8 RVNs. We are proudly independent and strive to offer fantastic patient and client care. We are accredited Gold Feline Friendly and Gold Rabbit Friendly and are proud to have won the Burgess Rabbit Practice of the Year award this year.

Toll Barn 2The purpose built practice has separate cat, dog and exotic pet waiting areas and wards, dedicated operating theatres and prep room, laser therapy unit, on site C.T. scanner, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy, tonometry, multiparameter units etc and a memory garden providing a tranquil area for clients to contemplate decisions.

Our appointments are 15 minutes with the option for 30 minutes when required. We believe in giving back to the community and also run an RSPCA welfare clinic 1.5 days a week. We do provide out of hours care for our clients as this helps us to provide the highest standard of care for our patients but our on call is very quiet and full support is available if required.

Toll Barn 3Our day includes an hour lunchbreak and additional break to catch up with lab reports and phone calls.

Successful candidate

The successful candidate will be friendly and approachable with good communication skills with both staff and clients and an eagerness to build a good relationship with staff and clients as well as a desire to continue to build their skills to offer our patients the best care.

A medical or surgical bias can be accommodated for the right candidate.

You will have independence to work up and treat your own cases but also full support whenever needed. We are committed to continually investing in our team, equipment and facilities to ensure we always provide our patients with the best care possible and our staff with the opportunity to be the vets they always wanted to be. Certificates are fully supported, funded and encouraged.Toll Barn 4

Company

Our friendly team is dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care for you and your pets in a supportive caring environment. We realise pets are members of the family and are committed to assisting you in making the best decisions for the health and well being of your companions.

Our small team means you will usually see the same vet allowing better continuity of care.

We believe your pets are as important to us as they are to you which is why we offer longer consultations and flexible appointment times with dedicated cat, dog and exotic waiting areas and wards.

Continued investment in state-of-the-art facilities and equipment allows rapid “in-house” diagnosis and treatment of most diseases affecting pets and exotic animals. We understand treating exotic pets can be challenging and are happy to support local practices with advice or referral consultations.

All our staff are committed to furthering their knowledge, regularly attending courses to keep abreast of the most recent treatments and techniques to help your pets.

Our purpose built surgery includes a dedicated meeting room where we regularly provide in house lectures on veterinary care of exotic pets to other vets and nurses and we are proud to host client education evenings allowing the opportunity to fully understand your pets' health.
