A work life less ordinary starts right here

If you're looking for a rewarding career in a fast-paced but friendly environment then Vets Now is for you. Our ethos is simple – to give people and their pets the care and support they deserve, at the time they need it most and our Vet Surgeons are vital to delivering this ethos.

We are looking for a Vet Surgeon to work alongside our fantastic team of Vets, Nurses and support staff in our Herne Bay clinic. This is also an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into Emergency and Critical Care as you will be supported by our very experienced team on shift.

With such a diverse caseload, emergency Vets will be continually challenged medically and surgically. You will be supported and mentored in clinic by your Senior Vet and will have the opportunity to advance your career through development or studying towards a certificate if you chose to do so.

Be part of a phenomenal team

In our new, state of the art, purpose built clinic in Herne Bay - you will be mentored by your Senior Vet and on shift, you will be supported by a strong team of Nurses, Animal Care Assistants and Receptionists.

The wider network of emergency clinics and specialty hospitals also work in collaboration to ensure that we can offer the best Emergency and Critical Care in the country. Whether it’s sharing best practice or seeking advice on a particularly complex case, you will never be on your own at Vets Now.

What’s in it for you?

We have revolutionised the way emergency veterinary care is provided and recognising hard work is really important to us. Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and rewards package that could include:

  • 7 weeks pro rata annual leave
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • Private medical insurance
  • £1500 CPD allowance plus 35 paid hours pro rata
  • UK Standard Pension contributions – 5% Employee/3% Employer
  • Professional membership fees
  • Up to 50% discounted staff pet care
  • Death in service of two times annual salary
  • Membership of employee wellbeing programme
  • Company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes

Enhanced induction

At Vets Now, we are passionate about training and the on-going development of our employees. If this vacancy is of interest and you feel you would benefit from an enhanced induction into our business then the option below may be perfect for you:

AdvantEdge: Two week programme for experienced, talented Vets that will fast track them into a successful emergency role.

Company

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from 55 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and three 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 100,000 small animals every year — and during seasonal holidays, like Christmas and Easter, our highly-skilled staff answer around five queries an hour from worried pet owners. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our three hospitals — in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
