Our small animal practice in Totton, Hampshire, is growing fast and we are now looking for an additional vet to join this friendly team!
Our Partner, Dr Judith Archbold, is an Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery, and opened Totton Vets4Pets in June 2018. Since then the practice has gone from strength to strength and her team now see a varied caseload including exotics. You will be joining a team of 1 RVN, 2 student nurses (soon to qualify) and 3 receptionists.
This is an exciting time for you to join this rapidly growing practice, focused on building a strong local reputation by providing a quality and friendly service. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with your own client base and have continuity of clinical caseload.
The bright and spacious practice is equipped to do both routine and advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, as well as having state of the art equipment including digital x-ray / dental x-ray, ultrasoundmachine, orthopaedic equipment and in-house laboratory facilities. There is also a separate colleague area for you to enjoy between clients.
Totton is close to Southampton with easy access to the picturesque New Forest National Park, making it a desirable place to anyone wishing to explore both coast and countryside. It also benefits from train links to London Waterloo, Poole and Bournemouth as well as easy access to the M27.
Person Specification
This rewarding position is flexible covering either full or part time hours and includes only 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am-12 noon) but no OOH, and as the practice is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, all colleagues can enjoy an excellent work-life balance. Successful applicants should be confident in an occasional sole charge role and enjoy the variety provided by the clients and colleagues.
You will be part of a strong team dedicated to providing superb standards of client and animal care and as this role plays a key part within a small, friendly team the ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible. The ideal candidates will have good general surgical and medical skills and experience in emergency surgery.
