Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Ipswich, Suffolk

An exciting opportunity to join a practice voted by its employees as the happiest place they have ever worked has come up. Situated in Ipswich with easy access to the East Anglian countryside and within walking distance to the train station with a direct 1-hour train to London, the location could not be better. You will be joining a friendly and experienced team of 3 vets (soon to become 4), 5 RVNs, 2 veterinary care assistants and 6 receptionists. You will also have access to excellent facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound and in-house lab equipment, Catalyst 1, Lasercyte and Sedivue.
The suitable person for this role will have a minimum of 24 months experience (less will be considered) and be comfortable with routine small animal surgical procedures. You must also enjoy building relationships with clients and colleagues alike and be passionate about providing the highest level of care to your patients. In return, you will benefit from an excellent work-life balance with a 4-day week rota, no out-of-hours or sole charge work and only 1-in-2 Saturday mornings. You will get to work alongside an experienced team with interests ranging from animal behaviour to surgery, with one vet working towards her certificate in surgery. You will get access to a varied caseload, including from a local animal rehoming centre, and work with everything from small furies up to large dogs.
CPD study is funded and encouraged, including certificate study if it benefits the practice. In addition, you will have your RCVS, BVA and VDS memberships paid for and have access to exclusive colleague discounts including with High Street retailers and restaurants. Staff welfare and mental health is important to the partners, so there are regular out of work team socialising and staff have access to pastoral care and emotional support when needed.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
- Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years UK experience in small animal practice (less will be considered)
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be registered with the RCVS to practice in the UK
