Veterinary Surgeon - North Lakes Mixed Animal Practice

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated vet for our friendly, independent mixed practice, located in the rural market town of Wigton on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park. We are a long-established 13 vet, 6 nurse RCVS Accredited practice working at the centre of our local community.

We are well-equipped and offer a wide range of general practice treatments. We have a modern surgical theatre and prep room, dedicated dental room and fully equipped on-site laboratory. We provide Calf and Flock clubs, puppy evenings and a number of face-to-face and on-line courses for our farming community. Services and equipment include large and small animal ultrasound scanning, semen testing for sheep and cattle, digital x-ray equipment, endoscope, in-house blood and biochemistry machines, laser BOAS surgery and advanced orthopaedic kit.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic mixed vet with excellent communication skills and a warm professional manner. You will be confident to work independently and thrive within a busy clinical team dedicated to offering high quality care to our loyal and appreciative clients. This varied and exciting role will have an initial emphasis on small animal consultation and farm work. You will enjoy ample opportunity to develop specialised skills within a highly motivated team with full clinical support.

This is a permanent full-time role. Normal working hours are 8:30am - 6pm. We provide our own OOH/ on call service to ensure our clients receive continuity of care. Rota is equally shared. The role comes with an attractive salary packaged commensurate with experience, 24 days holiday plus 8 additional bank holiday equivalent days and 3 days CPD with funding available for 2 additional days.
