Surgery Information / Job Description

Our successful and growing small animal practice in Redditch has an exciting opportunity for another veterinary surgeon to join them.

By joining us, you’ll become part of a caring, collaborative clinical team, dedicated to providing the highest standards of care to clients and their pets.

Our Partner, Sonia Moretto, is nearly 20 years qualified from Perugia University in Italy and opened Redditch Trescott Road over 10 years ago. During this time the practice has gone from strength to strength and is now spread over two floors which includes 5 consult rooms, two theatres, separate diagnostic room, separate cat/dog/small furries/isolation wards and a quiet room for studying or working up cases. The surgery is also fully equipped with digital x-ray machine, ultrasound, dental x-ray, tonopen and BP Doppler and extensive in-house laboratory equipment.

Sonia is fully supported by a team of 5 full and 1 part time vet, 5 nurses, 2 student nurses and a team of 5 receptionists. There is a strong focus on team work and work-life balance, with rotas often reviewed to ensure everyone benefits and has job satisfaction.

Person Specification

You will be joining a team who stride towards gold standard care of clients and each other. Quality improvement and best practice protocols are monitored and updated to latest evidence based medicine.

We’re looking for a full time vet to work 40 hours a week with 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis with no OOH. You will need to be comfortable with sole charge as this will be occasionally required.

Experience in medicine, surgery including most abdominal surgeries would be ideal along with demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer a supportive working environment together with career development opportunities and an excellent package and benefits that includes: competitive salary, generous CPD allowance which is encouraged and exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home.

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service, and would like to join our team then we would love to hear from you.

Meet Vets4Pets

We put pets first

Beyond all else, we’re committed to animal health and welfare, and we absolutely put pets first. The most powerful partnerships we have are with pets and their owners. This is at the heart of what we do and always will be.

Vets4Pets Northampton Wins Vet Wellbeing Award

Colleague mental health and wellbeing have always been highly important to Jenny Millington and Sally Courtney of Vets4Pets Northampton. So much so, that during the past 12 months, they and their colleagues have implemented a number of fantastic initiatives to support in this area. These efforts have resulted in the practice recently receiving the 2019 Vet Wellbeing Award, medium-sized practice category, from the Society of Practising Vets (SPVS), in partnership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ (RCVS) Mind Matters Initiative.

We help our nurse colleagues thrive

We know first-hand the tremendous contribution vet nurses make to the smooth running of a practice and to animal health and welfare. We’re therefore committed to recognising and celebrating these contributions and to providing our nurse colleagues with learning opportunities specific to them. Our annual Vet Nurses Conference (a Vets4Pets-only event) offers a full day of industry-leading CPD.

We are very much aiming to be an association where people can seek support for themselves and others and where employers and groups and other associations can seek support from us regarding the promotion of diversity and inclusion.
