Orthopaedic Intern - Surrey/Sussex border

We are a busy, dedicated small animal orthopaedic and spinal surgery referral practice. The veterinary team comprises two RCVS specialists in small animal surgery and two RCVS advanced practitioners.
The practice recently relocated to a new building with excellent facilities (3 operating theatres and on-site CT) in a beautiful rural setting. A mobile MRI scanner regularly visits the practice.
We are very well-equipped to deal with the full range of orthopaedic procedures (THR, TPLO, CUE, arthroscopy etc).
The role of the intern is to assist the referral surgeons in the diagnosis and surgical management of referred cases. You will have an important role in the perioperative care of surgical cases under the supervision of the referral surgeons and will gain a lot of experience in all aspects of case management.
The position will particularly appeal to recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in referral surgery.
Several of our previous interns have secured university residency positions and have published articles in peer-reviewed journals.
The position is full-time but there is no requirement for weekend work.
The position if for a 12-month period.
The successful candidate will be keen and enthusiastic with a strong desire to learn and work effectively within a team of vets and nurses.
Salary will depend on experience (£30,000-£34,000 per annum) plus £2,000 pa CPD allowance (5 days). Holiday entitlement 20 days plus bank holidays. Contributory pension and private medical care.
Between Dorking and Horsham on Surrey/Sussex border.
