Surgery Information / Job Description
If you are looking for the next step in your career, we could have the perfect role for you!

We are seeking additional experienced vets to join our friendly team in Hemsworth Vets4Pets!

We have two exciting opportunities within our team, one role would suit an experienced vet who has previously held, or is keen to progress into, a lead veterinary surgeon position. The other would suit someone with an interest in emergency surgery and be capable of sole charge.

We work to high standards and pride ourselves on providing Gold standard care. We are PSS accredited and are also a TP practice. Our clients and their pets are at the centre of everything we do and we are looking for vets who share the same values as us. As we are a younger practice, we are always open to ideas of how we can build the practice further within our local community.

You will be joining a friendly, supportive team made up of a vet, 2 RVN, 2 receptionists, and a practice manager/RVN. Our practice is well equipped with state of the art equipment including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.

Person Specification
These rewarding positions are full time and will include 1-in-2 Saturdays, but no Sundays or OOH, meaning all of our colleagues can enjoy an excellent work/life balance. Successful applicants should have good general surgical and medical skills and enjoy the variety of cases, whilst continuing to build our growing base of bonded clients.

For the lead vet role, you will have extensive surgical experience, be comfortable working autonomously and will enjoy mentoring less experienced members of the team when needed.

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we can offer:

  • A friendly and supportive work environment
  • Competitive salary
  • Pension scheme
  • CPD allowance
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS and BVA)
  • Exclusive colleague rewards including discounts with High Street stores and restaurants

Meet Vets4Pets

We put pets first

Beyond all else, we’re committed to animal health and welfare, and we absolutely put pets first. The most powerful partnerships we have are with pets and their owners. This is at the heart of what we do and always will be.

Vets4Pets Northampton Wins Vet Wellbeing Award

Colleague mental health and wellbeing have always been highly important to Jenny Millington and Sally Courtney of Vets4Pets Northampton. So much so, that during the past 12 months, they and their colleagues have implemented a number of fantastic initiatives to support in this area. These efforts have resulted in the practice recently receiving the 2019 Vet Wellbeing Award, medium-sized practice category, from the Society of Practising Vets (SPVS), in partnership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ (RCVS) Mind Matters Initiative.

We help our nurse colleagues thrive

We know first-hand the tremendous contribution vet nurses make to the smooth running of a practice and to animal health and welfare. We’re therefore committed to recognising and celebrating these contributions and to providing our nurse colleagues with learning opportunities specific to them. Our annual Vet Nurses Conference (a Vets4Pets-only event) offers a full day of industry-leading CPD.

We are very much aiming to be an association where people can seek support for themselves and others and where employers and groups and other associations can seek support from us regarding the promotion of diversity and inclusion.
