Head Veterinary Nurse - Shalford, Guildford, Surrey.

We are seeking a Head Vet Nurse to join our team. We are looking for a candidate to work with our team of nurses, students, vets and support staff.

The Practice
We are a modern, forward thinking practice set in the Surrey Hills. We pride ourselves on our high standards of patient care and strive to offer gold service to our clients. We have DR, Dental Xray, Video Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, a brand-new Wellness Centre – offering both Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy on site. We encourage our nurses to use their skills to fulfil their potential, so CPD is actively encouraged.

The Role

The role includes all aspects of nursing as well as the day to day running of the surgical cases, wards, and nursing team. There is scope to develop our nursing clinics and bring any new ideas to the practice. We are a training practice, so supporting our SVN is key.  A clinical coach qualification would be beneficial but not essential as training can be given. The successful candidate will be supported by the senior leadership team in practice.

Other duties in the roles are: rota management, Stock control, Helping with practice standards, Health and safety and other admin roles in the practice.

It is a full time position – 40 hours per week with 1:4 weekends. NO OOH.

Successful Candidate
Good leader, with excellent communication skills.  We are a team of 7 nurses, 4 RVN’s and 3 SVN’s. The job involves managing the day to day running of the surgical team, infection control, education support of SVN’s. Time management skills are vital.
