Registered Veterinary Nurse - Belgravia, Central London

 A full-time day nurse position has become available at our 24-hour emergency and first opinion, small animal practice. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to become part of a successful, independent practice, situated in central London.

The practice:

Elizabeth Street Veterinary Clinic is an independent practice, with a loyal and dedicated client base. A veterinary clinic has existed at this site since the early 1800’s. In more recent times, the clinic has been a pioneer in emergency veterinary services. In 1980, five vets, Mr Maurice, Mr Gordon, Mr Butt, Mr Carmichael and Dr Fogle took over the clinic with the intention of offering an emergency veterinary clinic to the central London region, making Elizabeth Street the first clinic in Europe to offer 24-hour staffed emergency care for animals, a service which is still provided now by our dedicated team.
 
As we are located in Central London, transport links to the practice are readily available from all surrounding areas. We have the facilities and staff on site to carry out a full range of routine and emergency treatments, including routine lab work, ultrasonography, digital radiography and a variety of medical and surgical procedures. Our team of RVN’s and veterinary surgeons is available round the clock for appointments and out-of-hours emergency treatment.

The role:

Currently this is a full-time role comprising of a 40 hour week, Monday through to Friday, as well as 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.

As we have a dedicated team of permanent night/emergency nurses, there are no compulsory OOH, (nights or bank holiday), shifts to be covered.

Your role will vary on a weekly basis, and will mainly consist of either a theatre/hospital nurse position, (performing pre-operative checks, monitoring general anaesthetics, providing post-operative care and nursing care for in-patients etc.), or a consult nurse role, (assisting the vets, performing nurse consults as required, placing orders and assisting our dedicated receptionist etc.).

Successful candidate:

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working and able to demonstrate high levels of both client and patient care.

We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience and ideally wish to find a great team-player, who is also able to use their initiative.

The package:
The overall benefit package consists of funded and supported CPD, a holiday allowance of 4 weeks plus all bank holidays, employee loyalty bonus scheme and employment pension. 

Location:
The practice is located on an attractive and well-maintained street in Belgravia, London. Both Victoria rail/underground stations and Sloane Square underground station are located a 4 minute walk from the practice. Several bus routes also run through the area, providing a variety of means of transport.

Salary:
Salary is negotiable depending on experience. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be discussed at the time of interview.
