Veterinary Surgeon

My client is looking for a dedicated, experienced, small animal vet who is interested in providing a high quality, first opinion service as part of a lovely team.

Our client is an independent 50% equine and 50% small animal practice set in a beautiful  rural location on the Hampshire/Berkshire border. They are a tight knit, highly engaged team of four vets, three nurses and a receptionist dedicated to having fun providing an exceptionally high quality
service treating their clients as valued friends and their animals as if they were their own.

They are a very supportive team and take great care of each other. They work 8.30am until 6pm Monday to Friday with no weekend surgeries. Their vets work a four and a half day week finishing at 1pm on one of the weekdays. They are dedicated to providing their clients with their own out of hours service on a 1  in 4 rota.

My clients vets get 25 days holiday a year, VDS, RCVS and BSAVA or BEVA paid for, BUPA  Healthcare, Pension and salary according to experience.

Their main surgery has operating and hospitalisation facilities for both small animals and horses and they are fully equipped with an IDEXX practice lab and digital diagnostic equipment. They run 15 minute consultations by appointment only and pride themselves in taking time over their  cases and
with their clients.

Their clientele are predominantly insured and do the work for the local Dogs Trust kennels so there is a considerable amount of routine surgery. They are a Royal Veterinary College training practice and have two final year students with them for much of the year. The vacancy
would suit an individual with interests in education and diagnostic imaging.
