Job Details

We are seeking a Mobile Veterinary Surgeon to support practices in our Essex region! 

Here, you will be part of a close knit network of friendly vets, nurses and support staff. You will be supported and encouraged to work to high medical and surgical standards.

The role offers a good work life balance with a 4 day working week, covering a total of 39 hours. This shift pattern includes 1:3 half weekends (Saturday/Sunday) or 1:6 full weekends. 

You will also be included on our bank holiday rota which is fairly split between all vets in the region, as well as our on-call rota to support our wonderful night team if required. 

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months' UK small animal experience (or UK equivalent) and will have a client orientated approach with excellent communication skills.

Salary and benefits:

This role offers a package of up to £41,000 per annum, including £7,800 accommodation allowance, vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance, £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave, VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid. 5 weeks annual leave

Skills and experience:

  • You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS
  • A full drivers license is essential 
  • A minimum of 6-months UK (or equivalent) veterinary experience with small animals
  • Confident working sole charge

Branch:

This role supports our practices at Thorpe Bay, Leigh-on Sea, Canvey Island, Benfleet, Corringham and Tilbury.

You will also have access to our 24-hour hospital in Southend. The equipment and services include flexible and rigid endoscopy, a well equipped in-house laboratory (including blood gases and clotting profiles), a high spec ultrasound machine, CT imaging and digital x-ray. This hospital has a strong team of vets with broad skill range and high level of nursing care.
