We are seeking someone with a passion for emergency and critical care and who thrives working at a gold standard in patient and client care. The successful candidate will have experience in emergency surgery such as including splenectomy, c-section and GDV as well as diagnostics. 

This is a permanent full time role, covering an average of 49 hours a week. The shift pattern consists of 7 nights on, 7 nights off (Monday - Sunday) 7pm - 9am - weekends are included in this pattern. 

This role offers a package of up to £62,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes housing allowances, vehicle or allowance, CPD allowance + 2 days CPD leave, RCVS, VDS and BVA membership.

Key responsibilities 

  • Running the hospital at night alongside a qualified RVN.
  • Managing in patients, emergencies and emergency consults. 

Skills and experience

  • Ideally holds or studying for an ECC certificate
  • Experience with advanced emergency surgery including splenectomy, c-section and GDV
  • Experience with diagnostics including abdominal and cardiac ultrasound
  • Excellent communication and ability to approach a busy hospital with a calm disposition

The branch

This role is based at our Watford 24-hour hospital in Hertfordshire. It has good transport links from Watford Junction Station, including a direct link to London Euston. 

The Watford region is made up of 19 branches, all of which feed into the 24-hr hospital for out of hour care.
