Greenside Vet Practice in the beautiful Scottish Borders would like a colleague to join our first opinion/referral team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to enjoy working in a friendly and supportive practice, whilst expanding their clinical skill set and benefitting from no OOH or weekend commitments.

We seek an enthusiastic colleague, preferably with experience, with an interest in lameness, pain management and rehabilitation.  Training in diagnostic techniques such as advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound and gait analysis would be provided.

We offer a high standard of care to pets and their owners, and have on site, the UK’s leading stem cell, regenerative medicine and rehabilitation clinic. This purpose built referral unit also accommodates hydrotherapy and physiotherapy services.

The Practice

Greenside Vet Practice is situated in St Boswells in the beautiful Scottish Borders, only 45 minutes by road or train from Edinburgh, and 60 minutes from Newcastle. We are a friendly and supportive practice with excellent staff retention. We are part of the Linnaeus Group.

We are a 10 vet mixed practice with an expanding first opinion companion animal component, as well as boasting the UK’s leading stem cell regenerative medicine and rehabilitation clinic. We receive musculoskeletal referral cases for assessment and treatment from across the whole of the UK.

Beautiful scenery, historic market towns, outdoor pursuits e.g. mountain biking and fishing on the River Tweed. Near Melrose, and one hour from Edinburgh and Newcastle. Good road and rail links.

The Role

The successful candidate will act as a bridge between the first opinion and referral clinics. They will be encouraged to work up cases utilising state of the art diagnostic tests and tools. These include musculoskeletal ultrasound, Gait4dog gait analysis, stance analysis, Force plate analysis, digithermal imaging and pressure algometry. Treatment options include Class IV Laser and therapeutic ultrasound as well as specialist interventions such as stem cell therapy, platelet-rich plasma, intra-articular therapies and extra corporeal shockwave therapy. There would be full support given from our in-house physiotherapists and hydrotherapists in case management.

Successful Candidate

We seek an enthusiastic colleague who possesses excellent communication skills. They would preferably have some experience and have an interest in lameness and pain management. They would be part of the first opinion and referral team.
