Lead Veterinary Surgeon – West Yorkshire

My client in the West Yorkshire area has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced veterinary surgeon with management interests to join their their progressive team as part of a large multi-site first opinion practice.

This position is full time, working a 40 hour week which has been engineered to support a good work life balance, 3.5 days in the week (2 x 12 hour shifts, 1 x 10 hour shift and 1 x half day), weekends are on a 1:4 rota and there is no OOH’s as this is handled exclusively by the dedicated night vets.

You would be joining an established vet team to support the hospital director.  You would be responsible for managing vets within you own discipline and be accountable to deliver KPIs/budget in this area. There is scope for this to progress to a Lead Vet or Clinical Director role in the future for the right person. The hospital is exceptionally well equipped with all of the toys you would expect, including; CT; 3 theatres; laparoscopy; XR/ultrasound/endoscopy and has won RCVS awards.

This position could suit someone with a surgical or medical bias and a certificate or post graduate qualification would be an advantage.

The ethos of the practice focuses very much on development, both individually and practice wide, CPD is both fully funded and supported. The ideal candidate will be strong clinically but also have some management experience or interest. Full training and support will be provided through your transition into this role so previous experience leading a team is not required.
