Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a number of talented, highly motivated and dedicated nurses to work within our specialist referral setting. To facilitate smooth running of the hospital, with the nursing area being a priority. To provide excellent patient and client care as well as a high of standard support to vets.

The Practice
Eastcott Vets and Eastcott Referrals work closely under one roof. We offer an award-winning primary care service and a specialist-led referral service from our purpose-built, recently extended veterinary hospital. Good transport links to London and the South. Close to the North Wessex Downs AONB.

The Role
Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a number of talented, highly motivated and dedicated nurses to work within our specialist referral setting.

We currently have over 50 qualified veterinary nurses who are supported by a team of animal nursing assistants. Career progression is encouraged in what is a progressive environment with an emphasis on high clinical standards and gold standard patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be familiar with the relevant parts of the business plan, in particular, the business and marketing objectives
  • Inpatient care
  • Nursing clinics
  • Sourcing supplies
  • Equipment care and maintenance
  • Dispensing drugs
  • Reception duties when required
  • Radiography
  • Assisting surgery
  • Anaesthesia
  • Associated administrative duties
  • Undertaking training and development to meet both personal and hospital objectives as described in the business plan
  • Any further duties as required to meet the role objectives
  • Laboratory work
  • Instrument maintenance
  • Infection control to include daily cleaning of the hospital and instrumentation
  • Training others
  • Manage the day to day running of the clinical areas and nursing team
  • Report concerns to senior management
  • Oversee and organise all student nurses and their training including support for their clinical coaches
  • Oversee and organise all referral nurse qualifications and CPD requests
  • Ensure cleaning lists are completed
  • Oversee hospital standards and new protocols
  • Check controlled drugs on a daily basis between the clinical lead team.  Arrange cover for your absence
