We'd love to hear from you about our new field based position of “Practice Product Advisors”.

In Summary, you will be working with existing Vet Direct Customers and seeking new; the successful candidate will share their product knowledge, demonstrate equipment and negotiate sales across a wide customer portfolio in a fixed territory. Ideally the candidate will have an existing knowledge of veterinary products and ability to educate and/or sell, either from time in practice or a field sales role alongside excellent communication skills and a drive for success. In addition the candidate needs to be able to create and follow a territory call plan, manage their own diary and hold a full driving licence. Full and ongoing training will be given and the role is supported by an experienced and dedicated team at our Newcastle site. Company car, pension, perkbox and staff discounts at our veterinary practices and online warehouse all form part of the package

Reporting into our Commercial Director you will be responsible for providing product solutions for a diverse range of customers across the territory and delivering excellent customer care.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Presenting, promoting and selling products & services to existing and prospective customers
  • Performing cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to best meet their needs
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining positive business and customer relationships
  • Facilitating and resolving customer problems and complaints to maximise satisfaction
  • Analysing your territory/markets potential, tracking sales and providing status reports
  • Keeping abreast of best practice & promotional trends and ensuring the continuous improvement of our service through customer feedback

To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge/skills/qualifications and attributes:

  • Working knowledge of a veterinary or clinical practice
  • High motivation and a drive to meet and exceed targets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Successful sales history either direct to pet or practice owner
  • The ability to create and deliver presentations and solutions tailored to your audiences needs
  • Commitment to change management and ongoing development of the product portfolio and self

This role is based on working a full time 40 hour week where you will manage your own diary which offers flexible work benefits. 

Location: In the role, you will be home based with regular travel to customer's across the South/South East and East Anglia. A typical week will involve 1 day at home and 4 days out at customer locations. There will also be some travel to trade shows and company meetings throughout the year at various locations.
