PART TIME VETERINARY SURGEON – BATH

Ashman Jones is a 3.5 vet small animal practice, with two branches, located in the beautiful city of Bath. The UNESCO listed city has a wealth of restaurants, cinemas, cultural events, night life and stunning natural surroundings for outdoor lovers.    

We pride ourselves on treating clients and their pets as an extension of the ‘Ashman Jones family' and going the extra mile for them. Our present team are vibrant, fun and supportive and the successful candidate will need to be able to build a similar rapport with staff and clients alike.

We are looking for a part time vet to work approximately 20 hours per week. This would include 2:4 Saturdays (9am-1pm consults only; no inpatients), a Friday and two or three other half days. There are no OOH requirements. There is the possibility of some flexibility with the hours / rota for the right candidate. There would be an opportunity for an extra day of work during the week at a neighbouring CVS practice if this was desired.

The ideal candidate will be a confident Veterinary Surgeon with previous experience within practice, excellent communication skills, will be capable of sole charge at weekends, thorough consultations completed in a timely fashion and routine surgical procedures without assistance (neutering / stich ups / mass removals / dental etc). Support would be readily available for more complex surgeries.  

You will be joining a well-established team of 3 experienced vets (interests in soft tissue surgery, medicine, imaging and integrated/herbal medicine), 2 RVNs, 1 SVN, 2 PCAs, and a friendly reception / admin team. We are a two-site RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice with separate dog & cat wards, separate theatre, separate prep room, digital x-ray, ultrasound & dedicated laboratory.
