Senior Vet Surgeon

Preston

Salary up to £70,000 DOE plus benefits

Vets Now have revolutionised the way emergency veterinary care is provided. Since 2001, we have grown to become the UK's leading provider of emergency and critical care, thanks in part to the dedication and clinical excellence of our Vets, Nurses and support staff. We have clinics and hospitals spanning the length of the UK and all of our staff work together to share best practice and deliver clinical excellence. As a company, we take pride and in what we do.

Join us for a work life extraordinary
Our Preston clinic is accredited as“outstanding” in the delivery of small animal emergency and critical care by the RCVS. This is an award that we are incredibly proud of and the team work hard to maintain these standards. To head up this outstanding team, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a drive for clinical excellence and a passion for mentoring and developing others to join us as a Senior Vet Surgeon.

Together we save pets' lives
Our Senior Vet Surgeons are leaders. They nurture and support emerging talent and help shape the careers of emergency clinicians. Coupled with a diverse range of cases, a Senior Vet Surgeon in Preston will lead from the front in achieving high quality patient care, excellent client care and encourage a team work mentality.

Out-of-hours doesn't mean ALL hours
Its a common misconception that working out-of-hours means you will be working all the time. Our Vets and Nurses find the opposite. Our shifts tend to be longer so you work fewer of them. The Senior Vet in Preston will work an average of 40 hours per week. When you compare this with our shift length of 13.5 hours, you will only end up working an average of 3 shifts per week.

What's in it for you?
Recognising hard work is really important to us. Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and rewards package that includes:

  • 6.6 weeks pro rata annual leave
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • ECC Certificate funding plus allowance paid on completion
  • Private medical insurance
  • Comprehensive CPD allowance
  • Pension contributions
  • Professional membership fees
  • 50% discounted staff pet care
  • Death in service of two times annual salary
  • Membership of employee wellbeing programme
  • Company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes

Celebrating success
As well as providing a competitive package of rewards and benefits, we also take pride in celebrating our successes. This includes hosting an annual awards ceremony for those who have exceeded expectations. Clinical staff are also encouraged to attend our annual ECC Congress, the largest in the UK, which features an array of internationally accredited speakers, delegates and exhibitors.
