We are looking to grow our happy team of Vets. A 4 day week will allow enjoyment of attractive Somerset countryside within easy reach of the coast; so a great location in which to live and work.

We have a skilled and friendly team, including certificate holders in ophthalmology, surgery and medicine who provide a high quality, first opinion veterinary service to our clients.

The role is full time - 4 days per week with 1-in-3 Saturday mornings and participation in OOH rota.

We have well-equipped facilities including digital radiography, endoscopy, ECG and ultrasound. We encourage and fund CPD including study for higher qualifications. A competitive salary commensurate with experience is offered and accommodation is available. We also offer exclusive company discounts, reward schemes and career development.

Company

Kingfisher Veterinary practice (KVP) celebrated it’s centenary in 2006. It originally started as a one-man horse practice and expanded over the years into a multi vet mixed practice covering areas as far afield as Maiden Newton in Dorset and Cotford St. Luke in Somerset.

In 2009 KVP divided its large animal and small animal sides of the business to run as independent units. The small animal side remained as Kingfisher Vets and the large animal side became part of Synergy Farm Health based in Evershot, Dorset.

Kingfisher Veterinary Practice as it stands today is a progressive 4 centre practice. We have vets from many different backgrounds contributing a wealth of experience and expertise. Many of our nursing and reception staff have lived locally for many years and have been connected with the practice for much of this time.

Veterinary support in the local community:

We are a traditional privately-run practice that has excellent links within the local community. We visit local schools and clubs to talk about our work and encourage people to see what goes on ‘behind the scenes’. We also have strong ties with St. Margarets Hospice, a charity that we support every year with donations generated from activities in and out of work hours.
