Job Details

We are looking to recruit a permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon  to lead our Aberdeen Pet Hospital. This is a key role within PDSA. You will have overall responsibility for leading the team at the site to maximise pet wellbeing in Aberdeen through prevention, education and treatment. You will have full responsibility for delivering the clinical, people and financial objectives of the site. This is a challenging role but the Senior Veterinary Surgeon role in Aberdeen offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop his or her leadership portfolio.

We are interested in those not only based in Aberdeen but also those who are willing to relocate. Aberdeen is a thriving city known as the ‘Granite City’ for its many enduring grey-stone buildings. With an offshore petroleum industry, the city is home to an international population. With its many museums, art galleries,  country walks, numerous golf courses and the cairngorm mountains nearby, there is always plenty to see and do.

About PDSA

Every year our dedicated vet teams carry out 2.7 million treatments on 470,000 pets. Our national network of around 120 high street shops help us to provide these treatments through selling both donated and new goods.

We believe that we work better together, so everyone from our vets, volunteers, shop teams and to our office support colleagues – we are driven in our dedication and passionate about pets. Join us and help improve the lives of every pet.

PDSA is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.

The organisation is committed to safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.

Appropriate background checks will be carried out where necessary dependent on the role applied for.

Why work at PDSA?

One look and you'll know.

A yelping dog with broken leg. A crying cat with a sore paw. A listless bird that’s off its food. A stressed small furry that’s too scared to come out from hiding.

A sick and injured pet tugs at our heartstrings. Helping them back to health and seeing the happiness on their owner’s face is hugely satisfying. It’s about caring: seeing the real value of a loving relationship between pet and owner.

Every year 470,000 pets need our help with over 2.7 million treatments to stop them suffering from sickness, injury and to prevent them from dying. This makes PDSA the UK’s leading veterinary charity

We believe that we work better together, so everyone helps. From our vets and volunteers to our shop and office support staff – we are a dedicated team who are passionate about pets. Join us at PDSA and help improve the lives of every pet. Whoever you are, wherever you live and whatever you do – it helps make a difference – thank you.
