Job Details

Pride Veterinary Centre is a rapidly growing, multidisciplinary private hospital located in Derby, United Kingdom. Both successful candidates will work under direct supervision of anaesthesia specialists (2 ECVAA, 1 ACVAA Diplomates and 2 ECVAA-resident trained fellows) to provide anaesthesia and analgesia service for varied surgical and diagnostic procedures. There is also opportunity to work with one of the University of Nottingham ECVAA professors.

Currently the hospital offers specialist services in: anaesthesia and analgesia, diagnostic imaging, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology and cardiology.

Pride Veterinary Centre is located at the edge of Derby city centre with good transport links to major cities via road and rail network. East Midlands Airport and Birmingham International Airport offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. You are very welcome to visit the hospital and spend some time with the team.

The Anaesthetic Team deliver support to both the 1st Opinion consult cases and additionally the Referral side of the business. All cases regardless of where they originate from receive our Gold Standard Care.

The applicant should ideally have at least 1-2 years of clinical experience in general practice (preferably small animal) or have taken part in a rotating internship. Although desire to pursue a residency is not a requirement, this internship program is aimed at preparing the candidate for a residency. The success chance of our past anaesthesia interns in securing a residency position (ECVAA and ACVAA) has been very high.

You must be a member of the RCVS prior to working in the UK. Additional desired skills are good English language skills and communication skills, punctuality, ability to work and think under pressure, good interpersonal skills and, of course, enthusiasm for anaesthesia and analgesia.

One role to start on 28.10.19 and the other to start on 11.11.19

  3. Twelve-month clinical experience in general practice or a previous rotating internship
  4. Excellent clear communication skills
  5. Registration with RCVS
