Full Time

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.

We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work.

Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new graduate or a veterinary surgeon with a few years’ experience to work at the famous Skeldale practice in North Yorkshire which was originally the James Herriot practice and now on TV as the Yorkshire Vet!

This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a supportive environment with an established team of vets who will be able to train and support you.

This purpose-built practice is on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Moors with good road links to the A1M and only two hours and thirty minutes away from London by train. Skeldale Veterinary Centre is fully equipped with an in-house laboratory, dental suite, newly renovated surgical theatre and much more!

We offer a competitive salary package starting from £31k depending on experience and 25 days holiday, we also include a vehicle and accommodation options plus generous CPD to the right candidate.

The practice is a 24hour surgery and works on a 4 day per week rota which gives you the balance to enjoy your home and personal life. This position is for a day vet so there would be very little if any OOH working.

Thirsk is on the A19, close to the main North-South A1 road. There are several trains a day from London, taking just over 2hrs without any changes. Local buses run from York, Ripon and Northallerton and there are daily coach services direct from London and other cities,  40 miles to Leeds, 27 miles to Harrogate, 23 miles to York which is perfectly placed half-way between London and Edinburgh.

Medivet is growing rapidly and it is an exciting time to join us - we encourage growth and development within your role and are truly committed to help our Medivet family members achieve their goals.
