Veterinary Surgeon – Dorchester and Weymouth

The best job in Dorset! A rare opportunity to join a friendly and young team in an expanding small animal practice in Dorset.

The Practice
Independent vet with no sales targets and complete clinical freedom. Friendly and experienced team of 5 vets, 7 RVN, 2 TVN and 4 receptionists. We are a young partnership who are enthusiastic about providing excellent clinical care whilst making our workplace a great place to be by listening to our staff and changing things for the better.

The Role
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our experienced team of vets in our two branch independent SA practice. As such we enjoy complete clinical freedom, no sales targets or campaigns. Just us, doing the best for the pets in our care. Our vets enjoy generous CPD and are supported to further their qualifications. Everyone has different interests which complement each other and there is an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine (Feline).

We have all the usual toys like digital radiography (including hand held dental), referral level ultrasonography, video endoscopy, in house Idexx analysers and air driven dentistry so we can work up cases to a high standard. We also utilise a remote specialist team to support us in our work ups when necessary. We are a Gold Status Cat Friendly Clinic and a rabbit friendly practice as we believe in doing the best for every pet. The practice is recently renovated and we have plans for further expansion this year. We are supported by a fantastic team of RVNs who go above and beyond to keep the practice running. We work a 4 day week and offer 5 weeks holiday with which to enjoy the beautiful Dorset coastline, be that on foot, by horse, by bike, on the water, or simply just going down to beach after work.

Successful Candidate
Someone confident with consulting and routine surgery (neutering/ mass removals). Past and current employees have commented on our ability to support colleagues to improve and enhance their skills, in particular surgery. We require someone outgoing with excellent client manner. A team player, we need someone willing to muck in. We are willing to accept new graduates, in which case the most important characteristic is an enthusiasm to improve your skills (which will be fully supported).
