The Practice
We are a first opinion practice, seeking to provide an excellent standard of veterinary care and service to our patients and our clients. We are a small, independent and friendly team made up of 5 vets. Offering veterinary care to both small animal and equine patients, our practice allows variety in cases and workload. Our location is great for enjoying the outdoors; situated close to the New Forest, the Solent and the South Downs, there are many outdoor activities just a short drive away.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon. 1:4 OOH rota. Looking for a team player, able to work well independently, and as part of a team. 15 minute consultations as standard to enable us to deliver great service.
Successful Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic team player, enjoy the variety that an independent SA/EQ practice can bring! We are a friendly team that works well together, as well as providing frequent socialising opportunities. Valid driving licence required.
The Package
We offer a competitive salary dependent on experience. CPD encouraged, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata. Rota offers good work-life balance. Work mileage as per HMRC guidelines.

Riverside Veterinary Surgery has been established since 1976 and, to this day, aims to provide an excellent standard of veterinary care in a relaxed and friendly environment. We are an independent, privately owned practice that tailors individual protocols and treatments for our clients and their pets.
We provide our very own 24 hour care to all of our patients and are very fortunate to have a wide range of State of the Art equipment, allowing us to examine and diagnose conditions as quickly as possible.
We have five veterinary surgeons, each supported by a team of highly trained nurses, that are available to treat small animals and horses. Our one facility caters for all treatment that we provide, around the clock. For our larger patients, the Equine team are always willing to attend to your horses needs within a wide area. We are based in Bishopstoke, easily accessible on the main road between Eastleigh and Fair Oak. We are close to Botley, Hedge End, Southampton and Winchester.
We believe that preventative treatment should be a large part of caring for pets; we are able to provide a wide range of advice and treatments for your pets in the hope that this will help to protect them against future problems.
