Veterinary Surgeon - Farnham, Surrey

Working at the hospital and sometime a branch, we are looking for a vet with good clinical experience and great communication skills. We want you to develop your own interests and will fully support this in benefiting the practice as a whole. You will support our role as part of Surrey University IMR teaching while being supported by the practice.

The Practice
We are the longest established vets in Farnham and one of the first hospitals in the country. We have a great happy team priding ourselves on a superb working environment. We work closely with one of the busiest Vets Now in the country which works out of our hospital; offering experience of critical care management on a regular basis adds to the enjoyment of the days’ work. Location
Farnham is a lovely market town within easy reach of the North and South Downs and good communication links.

The Role
You will be working at the hospital for the majority of the time, although time will be spent at our consulting branch. This will involve consultations periods, inpatient (day only) responsibility and surgical time, with strong encouragement to fully follow up your cases while developing and maintaining your own client relationships. Supporting the visiting Surrey University vet students will be part of the role; and being a mentor to this new generation is extremely rewarding. As a hospital we are open 24 hrs a day 7 days a week with Vets Now taking over our inpatients and OOH emergency work. We work closely with this busy Vets Now branch providing a varied and challenging caseload. Your normal working hours will range from 8.30am-6pm, 9am-18.30 and 11am-8pm with, we work a 4 day week. The weekend rota is 1 in 3 Saturdays and 1 in 6 Sundays. In addition we have a long weekend off after working a full weekend. Admin time is worked into each day allowing good client communications and case research.

Successful Candidate
We are looking for a candidate to demonstrate excellent clinical standards with a superb work ethic and a drive to continuously improve, question and challenge. Willing to be an active member of our team is essential. You will have sufficient experience to communicate effectively and have some surgical skills.
