Veterinary Surgeon - Aberdeenshire

Strathbogie Veterinary Centre our friendly independent practice is currently looking for a full-time veterinary surgeon (maternity cover). We will also consider part-time applicants. For new grads there is excellent support and mentoring and on call back up for as long as necessary.

The Practice
Our experienced team create a supportive work environment with freedom to make own clinical decisions. Opportunity to grow individuals’ specific field of interest and CPD is encouraged. Purpose-built facility recently completely refurbished with modern equipment. We have a loyal client base and busy appointment diary with varied caseload.

Location
Central location in the town of Huntly which has a population of about 4,000 and supports a larger rural community. Rural location but with easy access to mountains, seaside and commuting distance to the cities of Aberdeen as well as Inverness by road and rail networks. Aberdeen and Inverness airport are also within easy reach.

The Role
The role would involve small animal consultations and operations, large animal and equine calls. We also work closely with the local CPL. Would suit confident person with all round abilities, however the strength of the practise is in its mentoring and confidence giving to new grads, an interest in horses could be an advantage. The equally shared rota (currently 1:4 aiming for 1:5) allows high standard of commitment and level of care to our patients.

Successful Candidate
All rounder and interest in equine would be an advantage. Would suit an individual who is happy to work alone as well as within our sociable team.
