We are seeking a colleague who shares our ethos of providing clients with an excellent standard of care and service, to join our friendly, supportive  independent practice.

Excellent purpose built facilities and modern equipment. We believe in work life balance and offer a 4-day week, with plenty of time off to explore the area of outstanding natural beauty in which we live.

The position would suit either a mixed or small animal vet. Experience preferred it not essential, we have an excellent graduate training programme and experienced vets and nurses.

Company

The Beck Veterinary Practice has a long history stretching back seven decades, as the family-run practice has seen three generations of Beck vets dedicate themselves to taking care of their local community’s cherished pets.

Originally launched back in 1946 by Jimmy Beck and his wife Shirley, current owner Simon Beck moved his parents’ practice to its current purpose-built Whitby location in 1997, as well as opening a branch surgery in Loftus a few years later. It remains a family affair as Simon’s wife Sue is the Beck practice manager and daughter Libby – a fully qualified veterinary surgeon – has taken on the role of clinical director, while her brother-in-law Toby is the assistant manager.

The family’s values of providing high-quality care backed by sound clinical judgement and experience still runs as strongly at the practice today as it did when Jimmy first started serving his community.

Our purpose-built main practice at Whitby has everything you’d expect at a fully equipped veterinary surgery, including its own car park for clients, a large waiting room, three consulting rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory, a dog ward, cat ward, and an isolation ward, as well as a kennel for larger animals. Our Loftus practice has a reception area and one consultation room.

Our team is highly experienced and we can care for pretty much all your furry, feathered, and scaly friends! Dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, chickens, budgies, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, tortoises, snakes and reptiles… we treat all animals equally and understand your pet’s health and wellbeing are of huge importance to you. We also care for equine and farm animals, as well as the occasional wild creature such as hedgehogs, deer, badgers and even seals!
