Veterinary Surgeon - South Yorkshire

The Senior Partner is hoping to retire, so this is looking to recruit a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team of experienced vets in their 100% small animal practice with NO OOH. Work expected to start from Summer 2019.

This is a long established veterinary practice, providing veterinary care in the local area since the 1920s. They were a mixed practice until 2003, when they became solely Small Animal. They take great pride in the fact they can offer a bespoke veterinary service to all their clients, tailored to their individual needs both at the main premises and their small branch surgery nearby.

The position would suit a recent graduate with a year or two of experience. The experienced team will have time to provide support where necessary. They have a very varied medical and surgical caseload, and in house and visiting cardiology certificate holders offering a referral service and the equipment to deal with those cases. Confident new graduates will also be considered. The ideal candidate will be friendly, compassionate and caring, have great communication skills and be able to work as an integral part of a team.

They believe in having a good work/life balance. To this effect they offer one half day every week, a maximum of 2 evening surgeries per week (finish at 7pm), and a 5pm finish on other days. Weekend work is shared on a 1 in 3 basis on Saturdays (8.30am - 12noon) and 1 in 6 basis on Sundays (9.30am -11am).

The location is on the very edge of the beautiful Peak District which make them ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. Walking, running, mountain biking, climbing are all catered for locally - you really are spoilt for choice for what to do with your time off!

The experienced vets are capable of dealing with the vast majority of cases in-house, supported by the excellent team of RVN's. This makes is a great place to learn and further your skills.
