Veterinary Surgeon - Bridgwater, Somerset

Jaan and Kate Bartels bought the practice off Mr Daniel in September 2005, it was then known as 'Daniel and Associates' and primarily ran as a large animal practice, with a small animal contingent visiting the Castle Street Practice, in the town centre of Bridgwater.

The three storey Grade I and II listed building was a challenge to work in, and staff managed very well for many years. But as the practice grew it was obvious that saturation point was being reached and a new site would be needed. Over the years that followed Jaan and Kate worked hard to develop the practice into a 100% small animal practice, and were always on the lookout for a suitable location for the new practice. Their vision was to move the practice to a more suitable and appropriate facility that could offer high quality veterinary care to the people of Bridgwater.

It took a number of years to find the right location, and finally Robins Drive became available and with the skill of MJT Civils, the practice was built in just a few months. But that was just the start. With the new facility at their disposal it now meant that Jaan and Kate could develop the practice into their vision of a high quality service and provide affordable veterinary care, but they were determined that the new practice had to have an element of fun, colour and freshness about it.
