PART-TIME VETERINARY SURGEON (Flexible Hours)

YORK CLIFTON MOOR

“A truly amazing flexible place to work where we put pets first”

Our York Clifton Moor team is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking and RCVS-accredited Veterinary Surgeon to join our busy team. This is a chance to work within a great team environment for someone looking for a part-time role that will involve some weekend work.

Our bright, spacious, air-conditioned surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including dedicated operating theatre, digital x-ray, in-house laboratory, ultrasound, Doppler and dentistry facilities.

We are a progressive practice and aim to provide world class clinical care at the very heart of our community and we need great people to join our team to help us realise this vision. Join us and we will help you develop your skills and expertise to meet our client expectations.

Our York Clifton Moor Practice in a beautiful historic English town prides itself on delivering excellent client care and pet welfare standards and on having the ability to look at the whole animal, not just the clinical problem.

After first studying at Bangor and Aberdeen universities, practice partner Paul Pemberton graduated with a Veterinary Degree from the University of Cambridge in 1994. Paul worked in a rural practice in East Yorkshire for several years with pets, horses, farm animals and occasional “exotic “species such as rheas, wallabies and iguanas. Paul Also worked in Lincolnshire briefly before opening his own practice here in York. His favourite part of being a vet is being hand on with the animals in the consulting room or operating theatre which is thankfully what he does mostly!

Person Specification

Paul and his team are looking for the ideal candidate who wants to put pets first; do what they say they will do; work well as part of the team; get better every day; take pride in their work and have fun!  You will bring excellent communication skills, be a team player, have a basic knowledge of ultrasound, clinical pathology and radiographic interpretation, and be fine to work weekends on a 1 in 3 rotational basis (but this can negotiated)

Benefits

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care we offer a supportive and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities and an excellent package and benefits that include a competitive salary, CPD allowance and exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
