Head Veterinary Surgeon - West Midlands

608 Vet Practice is looking for an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic small animal veterinary surgeon to help lead their fantastic practice on a full-time basis.

With a competitive salary between £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience, just 1.5 weekends in 7, excellent nurse support, separate onsite night team and onsite 24 hour lab. This is a very exciting time to join our friendly team.

The Practice

At 608, our well-equipped main site, based in Solihull, offers 24-7 care supplied by our dedicated day and night teams. Our branch surgeries both have operating facilities for routine procedures. Our team is comprised of 13 vets and 24 RVNs. We are a nurse training practice so ensure our team meet our high standards. We have a dedicated reception team and are a RCVS accredited tier 2 small animal general practice

Location
Solihull is a pleasant affluent town on the edge of Warwickshire countryside with the nightlife of the city on our doorstep and excellent transport links.

The Role
Reporting to the clinical directors, our head vet would provide ongoing support in the provision of excellent patient services. They would assist in the efficient running of the practice and ensure all communication and clinical protocols are delivered and maintained. Leading by example and practising high standards of service for 608 Vet Practice clients and care through examination, medical and surgical treatment of their animals. Supporting and maintaining a good working atmosphere, showing respect for all staff and leading the professional team for all animals under our care.

Successful Candidate
We require a head vet who has a minimum of 5 years’ postgraduate clinical experience who is reliable, works to high standard, demonstrates the ability and interest to suggest and develop new sound ideas and methods. Our head vet would be an effective communicator, have strong supervisory skills, demonstrate sound judgement with making decisions, show attention to detail, be organised and having an empathic and approachable personality. 

The ability to build great working relationships, previous team management and familiarity with IT systems such as Word, Excel, Voyager, and Outlook would be an advantage. Our PMS system is Voyager.
