Campaigns Vet Nurse - North West

Salary: £22,000 per annum + benefits
Location: Merseyside, RC Merseyside
Job Type: Permanent
Hours per Week: 35

Closing Date: Wednesday 24 April 2019

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for around 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Working with our Campaigns Assistant and supporting our Campaigns Manager, you will assist with the planning and delivery of local campaigns and events intended to promote responsible dog ownership across the North West. This includes organising, promoting and attending events, providing free basic health checks and microchipping, together with advice and guidance on how to maintain a healthy dog. When not attening events, you will be based at Dogs Trust Merseyside Rehoming Centre.

This is a very varied and rewarding role and requires a Registered Veterinary Nurse with practice experience who is interested in working within a campaigns environment. You will need outstanding communication skills at all levels, written, verbal and IT, along with empathy and an understanding for people within socially deprived areas. This role will involve travel across London, so a full driving licence is essential.

To apply for this position please click the APPLY NOW button. Our application process requires you submit a CV and a cover letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role.

Company

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

The charity also focuses its efforts on understanding dogs and sharing that knowledge with the wider public to prevent problem behaviours that can result in relinquishment or abandonment.

We are working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
